Biography.

Stanley F. Buchthal, now based in London and New York, is a Film and Television Producer and an Entrepeneur in media, entertainment and fashion. Through his two companies: Dakota Group Ltd & LM Media GMbH he has produced or executive produced many feature films, documentaries and television series, as well as numerous theatre productions. He has won numerous awards for his film documentary work.
Stanley was producer on the 1988 John Waters classic Hairspray, which in 2022 was included in the annual selection of twenty five influential motion pictures to be inducted into the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress. His films have been screened worldwide in every major film festival including Berlin, Cannes, Sundance & Toronto, and shown on every major broadcaster throughout the world, including Amazon; Arte; BBC; Disney; HBO and Netflix. Stanley is a member of the Board of Directors for the LUMA Foundation and has formerly served on the board of the Mustique Company and Play Magnus Group.
